Disaster Chaplaincy Services Receives Commendation from FDNY
On March 4th, DCS executive director, Rev. Julie Taylor was invited to represent DCS at a volunteer recognition ceremony at the FDNY headquarters. The fire department was honoring the American Red Cross in Greater New York and the partnership groups that work with ARC-GNY in supporting not only the responders but also those affected by fires and other critical incidents.
Disaster Chaplaincy Services' Volunteers were acknowledged by Chief of Fire Department Salvatore Cassano, Comissioner Nicholas Scopetta, Terry Bischoff, CEO of ARC-GNY, and Bobby Wilson (from left to right) at the ceremony. The NYC Fire Commissioner Special Commendation was presented to Julie on behalf of the entire Volunteer Chaplain's Corps.
